Hello, I am Julie Davenport and I am in my second year at Falmouth University studying fine art. I take a lot of inspiration from nature into my work and I enjoy observing the finer details and the un-noticed. I am constantly in awe of our incredible planet and the privilege I have to be part of it. My works include drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, installation videos and site-specific works. The choice of material is important in my work as I believe that material is a language. For example, when working outside I love to use natural materials that would have a limited impact on the environment. I have a background in both gardening and farming, and it is not my intention to distract people from the natural beauty, but rather to bring attention to unnoticed places by my works. My goals are to give joy by communicating a dialogue with the viewer and artwork.
